Arriving by Boat
Located on the west bank of the Thames River in New London about a mile north of the entrance, we have deep water access to our docks. The Hellier facility and docks are in the southern section of Shaw's Cove - in the upper left corner in the photo. For additional photos of the Thames River and Shaws Cove, click here.
Navigation is straightforward - follow the channel up the Thames River past Fort Trumbull and turn to port at buoy 11. Enter Shaw's Cove through the swing bridge and proceed to port.
The Amtrak swing bridge opens on demand. Call the "Shaw's Cove Bridge" on VHF Channel 13 for an opening, or to request passage if the bridge is already open.
