Why learn from the AMERICAN SAILING ACADEMY?
The American Sailing Academy is an ASA Gold Star Sailing School

All Instructors are certified and United States Coast Guard licensed Captains

Our sailboats are modern keelboats that are meticulously maintained. They are a minimum of 28 feet long with wheel steering and electronic navigation

The basic course also includes your State's "Safe Boating Certificate License"

Classes are scheduled 7 days a week providing you flexibly and convenience

Sailing classes are taught onboard and in the class room

Experienced sailors can take challenge exams to obtain their certifications

Our location for sailing is a wonderful place to visit and explore on the eastern seaboard, where your learning is fun and the cruising setting is spectacular

$500 course rebate towards the purchase of a new or pre-owned sailboat, over $20,000, from Hellier Yacht Sales

 
Certification Challenge:

For Sailors with some experience: The ASA101 Basic Keelboat level certification may be challenged while participation in our ASA103 Coastal Cruise course. You will take a written exam and demonstration sailing skills. The fee for the ASA101 challenge is $75 plus $39 for the first year of ASA Membership.

For Sailors with extensive experience: The ASA101 Basic Keelboat & ASA103 Coastal Cruise level certifications may be challenged while participation in our ASA104 Bareboat Charter course. You will take a written exams and demonstration sailing skills. The fee for both the ASA101 & ASA 103 challenge is $150 plus $39 for the first year of ASA Membership.
