Vincent Petrella of Hellier Yacht Sales in New London, Conn., was elected president of the Yacht Brokers Association of America at the 85-year-old organization's annual conference last month.

Other new officers include Linda Warren of Alden Yacht Brokerage in Boston, vice president; Jennifer Warren-Seiler of Boat Sales International USA in Annapolis, Md., treasurer; and Paul Bennett of Bennett Brothers Yachts, Wilmington, N.C., immediate past president.

Elected to three-year terms on the board of directors were Bernard Luttmer of Swans Marina, Pickering, Ontario, Canada; Bruce Rosenzweig, Sailboat Sales Co., Chicago; and Rod Rowan, Crusader Yacht Sales, Annapolis.

Annapolis-based YBAA says more than 100 members attended the conference at the Radisson Bahia Mar Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale.

One of the highlights was an industry-issues panel featuring Thom Dammrich, president of the National Marine Manufacturers Association; Skip Burdon, president of the American Boat & Yacht Council; and YBAA executive director Joseph Thompson.

Thompson also reported on YBAA's efforts to establish the National Yacht Broker Education Center, which is scheduled to be ready by the end of the year.
