Deck Salons in the News
It's no coincidence that new Deck Salon models have been introduced in all three of our sailboat lines. Under various names - pilothouse, deck salon, raised salon - the concept has grown steadily in popularity since the mid 1990's and is here to stay.
Whether it's one of the sleek and stylish Jeanneau's, such as their 39DS or 45DS, the rugged and capable Island Packet 465 or the ground breaking new Catalina/Morgan 440, each manufacturer has brought innovative design elements into their newest models while remaining true to their heritage. This may indeed be the era of the Deck Salon.
The added light, and particularly the gained visibility of your anchorage surroundings while seated in the main salon are some of the advantages of a raised house vessel. Equally important for cruising, extra large tankage for both fuel and water and increased room for accessories are other gained features of the raised sole in the Deck Salon series. Beside making more efficient use of the interior volume, the sleek, modern raised house design creates a feeling of airiness, while increasing interior light and providing beautiful exterior visibility while seated in the main salon.
With its inherently lower center of gravity and excellent sailing ability, this design concept may well replace the center cockpit as the configuration of choice for many cruisers. If you have an interest in exploring the features and advantages offered by a mid-sized Deck Salon, be sure to check out these new models.
We have several models In Stock so swing by our showroom and discover first hand the great features these new models have to offer. Don't delay - we expect each of these exciting new models to be both a wise as well as popular choice for extended northeast cruising.
