Introducing the new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409!

Jeanneau's design philosophy is perfectly executed in the new 409. Above all a yacht must be elegant with sharp lines and fine details. The new Philippe Briand designed Sun Odyssey 409 is not only elegant, but also built for speed. A modern hull with a hard chine and excellent stability makes the Sun Odyssey 409 a pleasure to sail.

That distinction was not lost on American audiences this past fall during her debut at the world famous Annapolis International Sailboat Show. Jeanneau's introduction of their new Sun Odyssey 409 could only be described as a huge success as show attendees experienced "Standing Room Only" at the Jeanneau display as they jostled to get a first look the new design!

"It's always exciting" said Erik Stromberg, Jeanneau's product manger for sailboats, "when a new model gains instant success with the public."

The new 40 foot, Jeanneau 409 has in fact done just that. This exciting new model has an almost sinister look about it with its stream lined side windows, low profile hull ports, plumb bow, square transom and unique hull chine.

Designed by Philippe Briand and the Jeanneau design team, the Jeanneau 409 has struck a cord with show goers from around the world to such an extent that Jeanneau's production teams are scrambling to find ways to meet demand so buyers can have their boat up and sailing for next summer.

"One saving grace" said Jeanneau America President, Paul Fenn, "is that the 409 will be produced here in the United States at our production facility in Marion, SC. This will add greatly to our ability to meet demand for the boat and get it into customer's hands by April and May when the sailing season starts."

The Jeanneau 409 has an introductory price of $194,900. It is a candidate for the 2011 Best Boats Award from Sail Magazine and the Boat of the Year Contest sponsored by Cruising World and was recently named the 2011 European Yacht of the Year .
