Hellier Platinum Delivery and Commissioning
Makes Getting Started Easy!
Whether you're new to boating, new to sailing, or just new to your boat, Hellier's confidence building Platinum Delivery and Commissioning is designed to completely familiarize you with your new boat and its operation. Conducted at a relaxed pace over 2 days, every aspect of your new boat is covered:
Complete Dockside New Boat Orientation
- Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
- Location and identification of all important components, safety features, through hulls & maintenance areas
- Engine starting, operation and routine maintenance checks
- Review of owner's manual & equipment manuals
- Overview of warranty policies and procedures
Electronics Orientation
- Conducted by our "Raymarine Certified" installers
- Initial set up and calibration
- Alignment of radar, wind instrument and autopilot
- Dockside instruction and demonstration of all electronic components
- Sea trial with on the water orientation
On the Water Sailing Orientation
- Boat handling and docking maneuvers and practice with the entire family participating
- Standing rigging check and adjustment as necessary
- Sheet and halyard adjustments - leads and tension
- Sail trim for all points of sail
- Sail handling, furling, reefing
- Anchor handling and windlass operation
At Hellier we're committed to your complete satisfaction. You'll proceed at a pace and schedule comfortable to you. We encourage the participation of your entire family to help build and ensure the confidence needed to get the maximum enjoyment out of your new boat. Typically, our orientations are conducted on a Thursday and Friday, so you'll have the weekend ahead to enjoy your first cruise with the orientation fresh in mind.
We encourage all our customers to spend the next two weeks at our docks. Not only will you enjoy our facility and its protected floating docks as our guest, but you'll also have easy access to some of the finest cruising grounds to be found in New England. All the while your salesperson and the Hellier team will be available to answer any questions and assist with any additional orientations or checkout. We are open extended hours, 7 days a week during the season, so there will always be a team member available to attend your needs.
